Retirement and Vacation Resort Community.
BASIC PRINCIPLES: Building a resort community and gathering of like-minded individuals of all ages and families based upon the principles of non-violence and vegetarianism, teachings of Bhagvan Mahaveer.
SITE SELECTION: We have worked very hard for the last four months and investigated over a thousand sites in eight different states. We physically visited about twenty sites in five states and narrowed our options down to four sites in two states.
At this point we requested Pujya Acharya Shree Chandanaji to come for the final site selection. Pujya Acharyaji came to U.S.A. on October 17th 2007 and Pujya Sadhavi Shree Shubhamji who was already in Texas also came to Chicago. We went to Kentucky and Tennessee to visit these sites. On October 21st 2007, on the auspicious day of Dashera, we reached the site in Tennessee. After arriving at this site, Pujya Acharyaji told us that this is the location for The Veerayatan Sarvoday Tirtham. We stayed at this site for 24 hours and experienced nature in the midst of diverse wilderness. We saw a beautiful sunset and in the early morning we experience a breathtaking sunrise from the top of the mountain. We hope all of you will see this place in the very near future.
This property consists of approximately 560 acres with hills and valleys, wooded areas, and open fields as well as 5 kilometers of flowing creek and pond. The land is located between Knoxville and Nashville. It is about one hour from Knoxville and about two hours from Nashville.
The climate is very moderate. The nature is awesome. The drive through mountains and valleys is beautiful. We also went to The Smokey Mountains which were picture perfect, and that area is only about one and half hour away.
CURRENT PROGRESS: We already have a contract to purchase this property. We have also contracted Surveyors, Soil-testing Engineers, Civil Engineers, Architects. We are working with a Title Company, Attorneys, CPA, County President, State and Local Government Authorities, and Utility Companies. We are working tirelessly and keeping in touch with Pujya Acharyaji constantly for her guidance, advise and direction to bring this Veerayatan Sarvoday Tirtham Resort for Retirement and Vacation to reality in the near future.
We are currently also working on different sizes and styles of homes. Pujya Acharyaji has also taken copies of Survey and Topographic drawings with her to decide what common structures will be built and where on the property they will be located.
